Freddie Jewitt selected as Liberal Democrat candidate for Broxbourne

Freddie Jewitt has been selected as the Liberal Democrat parliamentary candidate for Broxbourne, pledging to stand up for local families facing rising costs and stretched public services.

A local resident for over 14 years, Freddie lives in the constituency with his young family and has been an active local campaigner since joining the Liberal Democrats in 2019. His background is in telecommunications, where he managed product teams at BT Business.

Freddie is standing on a platform focused on tackling the issues local people feel most strongly: the cost of living, access to NHS services, and the pressure on infrastructure from poorly planned development.

Freddie Jewitt said:

“I’m proud to be standing in the community my family calls home. Like so many parents I speak to, I’m worried about what the future looks like for our children—and whether things will be better for them than they are today.

Listening to people across Broxbourne, the message is clear. Families are struggling with rising bills and rents. Getting a GP appointment has turned into a 07:59 scramble. And new housing is too often forced through without the roads, schools and surgeries our area desperately needs.

People feel let down and are losing faith that those in power are listening or delivering real change.

I believe we can do things differently. The Liberal Democrats offer a practical, community-focused alternative—one that will fight for fairer costs, better healthcare, and properly planned development that works for local people.

That’s what I’m committed to delivering for Broxbourne.”

Residents are encouraged to get in touch with Freddie at Freddie.jewitt@broxlibdems.org.uk to share their priorities for the area.
